I often get asked, “What is my life purpose?” And for good reason! We all want to know why we’re here. It’s a simple yet complex question, based on your– perspective.
Many people mistake their job or career for their purpose. But it’s not. Your career or job is the means, or form, by which you serve your purpose here on earth. One could perceive, the more aligned your work (form) is, to your spirit’s purpose (what you value), the happier you feel. You want to make money and do what you love. Sounds like a win-win.
Many times though, people work in jobs that aren’t reflective of their purpose. Leading them to feel anxious, stressed, and drained. Their career is merely a means to make money in a world that values paper with numbers written on it.
But does your work (the means with which you make money) have to be aligned with your purpose? Well, that depends on your perspective. Take for instance, a person who digs ditches all day, yet comes home happy at the end of a hard day’s work.
The degree of your satisfaction depends on how you perceive your life. How you feel it “should” be. If you feel your work must reflect your purpose, then the by-product is the feeling of pressure to make it so in a world that values money. If you feel it doesn’t, then you’re happy with where you are and you feel your purpose fulfilled.
There’s no “right” perspective. Only yours.
Now, you can also have many life purposes– not just one. For example, one of your purposes could be loving and serving others and another could be caring for the environment. How you choose to express your purpose, or mission, might be through your career or job. Or maybe it’s through a role like that of being a mom or a volunteer.
There are many ways to express your purpose(s). And the expressions may change over time as you change.
If I could draw a silver lining from the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s that it’s forced people to look at their lives. Some feel lost, wandering the forest without a compass, wondering what on earth is their life’s mission.
Understand this. Your soul has accumulated lessons and interests over time. And you have the power to condense these into usable energy for your present life’s missions. But how do you know what these lessons and interests are?
They’re all around you. And this is where Spirit comes in. Spirit can help you recognize these lessons and interests and use them for your Highest Good to serve your many purposes here! Cause yes, you have a purpose. A cornucopia of them. Here’s how Spirit can help…
#1: Pay attention to the thoughts and ideas that come to you. And I mean, that keep coming to you, repeatedly! Spirit uses many ways to get our attention. From a song on the radio to your friend who just “happened” to mention something you’ve been thinking about.
No one likes a “Pete and Repeat” but who can blame Spirit? We’re bombarded with a daily fleet of distractions. And don’t get me started on our endless to-do lists. Yikes.
#2: Notice your recurring physical and emotional feelings. It’s Divine guidance speaking, providing you with important information. I know some of us have a tendency to ignore these feelings and brush them away like pesky mosquitoes on a humid day, but please stop and take note.
#3: Call on Source, your archangels, angels, spirit guides, ascended masters, and loved ones. Particularly Archangel Michael, who’s the overseer of life purpose.
Ask for clarification or help in translating confusing messages so that you’ll clearly know which steps to take. Better yet, ask for help in sorting your feelings, enabling you to notice, understand, and follow them. Cause God knows, it’s hard to hear yourself when you’re wound into an emotional knot.
Remember, we live in a world designed to keep us from our own inner light.
And because of this, it’s imperative we listen to our own urgings. Don’t ignore. Don’t shush. Only allow. Cause when you do, you’ll see how one synchronicity leads to another, and then another. And then soon, you’ll be on the road to living one of your many missions.
And never forget one of your ultimate missions. Which is what? To simply BE and ENJOY.
